This march was in solidarity for workers rights and "undocumented" workers and students. It was a time to recognize and celebrate the past and current labor movements and the struggle to fight for social justice and equality. Even though this march was permitted, I appreciated the moving and inspiring speeches of the organizers and the passion of the protestors. I thought the highlight of the march was when I witness the courage of a few Latino students standing up their rights. They participated in a civil disobedience action to encourage other undocumented students to come forward and stop living in fear of the INS and the police. They believe that you have to face your fears by "coming out the shadows" to fight this corrupt and unjust system. They were arrested voluntary to demonstrate their commitment to the struggle.
