It confuses me why more people are not outraged by this UNNATURAL SLAUGHTER. These natural predators have ALWAYS been on the Columbia River and play an important part in the natural ecosystem there. Just because man decided to call them "SEA" Lions does not mean that they haven't always been native to the Columbia River. It is their natural habitat. It is their HOME.

THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE.

It has only recently been determined... (by man), that some of them no longer have the right to exist there and have thus been deemed "disposable"... so they are being exterminated. Like their lives have absolutely NO VALUE whatsoever.

I guess the only value to be recognized in this "day & age" is to be viewed only in terms of dollar signs and so-called "profit" at the expense of other's lives. $$$

Never mind the *Blood in the Water*. Oh... that's right. They're hauled away for the deed to be done - ("out of sight� out of mind"). It's just another day of the status quo in action doing what they do best... the "business of killing for profit as usual" $$$. Man's GREED (of 'OVERFISHING' and taking more than his share) will always "win out" in the end because it seems most of the time his dominant inborn trait is that of SELFISHNESS.

*Sharing the Land with Other Creatures of the Earth* is not in man's "nature" it seems much of the time. It's more about conquering the land and domination over the lives of others (animals included). Sad but true.
