What makes you think the US would get involved through a military action? Obama didn't do so during the last uprising earlier in the year. Why would it be any different now?

The "trigger" is always set. US foreign policy is most always geared towards military action--- Predator Drone Missile Attacks, selling & trading arms & 'weapons of war' around the world and backing military regimes to "enforce peace"... supplying aid by helping to spread Depleted Uranium around the planet.
WHY WOULD IT BE ANY DIFFERENT NOW?

It's always an ONGOING WAR CAMPAIGN around the world. Imperialism institutes the OCCUPATION OF WAR for "profit" at the expense of the Earth.

No More *Traditions of War*.

Seeking "peace via war" is a questionable foreign policy to say the least.

that's nice and those are interesting links, but they have no bearing on what is being talked about here:

namely, why the US would have any possible reason to get involved in what is happening in Egypt, especially considering the US has done nothing to even remotely suggest they would consider such action.

You could make the argument for any kind of protest movement anywhere in the world. It doesn't make the argument valid, though. since you have no evidence.

While I have no reason to believe the U.S. cares about Egypt right now, it really depends on what we gain from it. They did nothing before, but maybe the people that have taken power now are better suited for our needs. If so, we could intervene but I don't think we would use our "military". It would probably just be special forces, CIA, ect. If the new leadership doesn't benefit us, we have no reason to stop them.. in fact we would probably just use the CIA to help fuel the people's actions. And all of this is a big if. We might give a shit one way or the other.
