As you may or may not know, the portland occupation had their entire pay-pal piggybank broken open and cleaned out last week by the disgruntled former finance committee money holder. All contents returned to sender. Over 14,000$, gone, back to you...

Tuesday, November 8, the prestigious Bagdad Theater (3712 SE Hawthorne) is opening it's doors on behalf of Occupy Portland, presenting a silent auction & winter contribution drive, a world-class occupy-themed political comedy show, and movie to end the night with all proceedes going directly to occupy portland. In our last days of preparation, Occupy Portland now needs your presence to make this successful!
Silent Auction - Local merchants have really demonstrated their support for this event by contributing more than 30 items to date. Doors & auction open at 6, and the auction will conclude around 7:30...
Comedy show... In addition to several local comics to open the comedy at 8- including some part time occupiers- we are delighted to present a main bill of no less then 4 "occupy friendly" headliners... Nato Green, Occupy SF, "Laughter Against The Machine," Dwight Slade "Best of US Comedy Arts Festival," Auggie Smith, winner of both San Francisco & Seattle's International Comedy Competitions in 2010, and Arlo Stone, occupypdx, & "Comedy Central" With over 100 years of comedy experience combined, the political/social comedy alone is a steal for anyone in solidarity with occupy at only $10 a ticket.
10pm movie - "The People Speak" The award winning documentary based on Howard Zinn's book, "A People's History of the United States," examines the historical impact of grass roots resistance and peoples struggles for justice in this country.
The silent auction starts at 6:30pm, comedy at 8, movie at 10.

"Did you hear about portland? Dude gave back all their donation money, but then the activists threw an awesome benefit show a week later and got it all back! All the people who got their occupy portland pay pal contributions refunded just came back with it and helped fill 600 seats on short notice, just on word of mouth; all blues brothers & bull horn style. Looks like they are back on track in pdx in less than a week with the 99% turning it OUT!!!. Portland, man, that place is awesome!"

Please Portland, help us show the world in two days our solidarity as a community. Help us close and heal a harsh and still open wound about the finances here. Get the activist side going again and we promise we will make you proud to have done your part to help us, Twice. PUSH BACK WITH US OREGON! IF WE CAN DO IT FOR EUTHANASIA (twice) WE CAN DO IT FOR OCCUPY! If the whole world is watching, I know they expected better from us, the second largest occupy. Me too! Well let's fix it. Tomorrow. Our movement has a chance with your participation to again shock the status quo to the core with a show of strength and solidarity from the 99%.
Come. If you know a pay pal refundee, bring them too. And to the rightfully skeptical, Let me just say, it's only ten bucks to see if we are back on track. Let the quality of this show and its value to the community be our best evidence as to why the activists deserve your second attempt at a donation. If you think we missed the mark, keep that initial donation. OR PUSH BACK! SHOW OUR POWER & DOUBLE IT DOWN AFTER A LEGENDARY NIGHT OF INSURRECTION IN OUR HOMETOWN THEATRE! COME HELP US SHOW GREED WILL NO LONGER BE TOLERATED IN OR OUTSIDE OF OCCUPY WORLDWIDE, AND THAT WHEN PUSHED, THE 99% PUSH BACK!! RESIST!!
We have the show. We put it together while you went to work and busted your hump as one of the 99% still fortunate enogh to be employed. Now come enjoy the sweat off our brow - just 10$ for an epic night and cause.

How else can you help? Contribution drive. Help the homeless and less fortunately with any warm winter gear you might have, including tarps. We will be accepting gear and financial donations all day Tuesday at the Bagdad.

Occupy Portland started October 6th, 2011 as a peaceful solidarity rally for the Occupy Wall Street movement. We are now one of thousands of cities internationally participating in an effort to get the peoples' voices heard. We are hard at work like you, creating intentional communities for us all and strengthening neighborhoods at the expense of corporate scope and influence. We are the 99%, and together we can change the world.
