Occupy Student movement gaining steam

It seems as though the student wing of Occupy has been lagging behind the normally more conservative union movement. But signs are emerging that students are realizing this is their fight too.
Locally an action has emerged for Portland State students to stage a walkout followed by a student general assembly planned on November 16th.

Nationally November 2nd and 3rd the first in what hopefully will become a series of coordinated national days of Occupy teach-ins. Campuses that participated included.

happy to see it 06.Nov.2011 08:08

Like many, I've been less happy about the fact that the young have seemed to be absent when it comes to protests, and at times seem to view them as singular events. The Occupy movement has awakened some youngsters, and it's not only needed, it's necessary. Indignance from them is welcome, even if it's toward this comment. We can sort things out later. Besides, my old (and increasingly cynical) bones don't handle the weather (nature's, as well as the social weather of our own making) so well anymore.
