October Bark About and Mushroom Hike

In October Bark sponsors a Bark Field Trip with Mushroom Mark to both learn about the role fungus plays in our forests and pick mushrooms. This year the hike will be to the Jazz timber sale.

You should expect to walk up to three miles off trail on this month's hike. Please bring lunch, water, and sturdy boots. And if you'd like to bring home some edible mushrooms bring a knife, basket, and paper bags . The weather is very unpredictable this time of year, so please be prepared for various weather conditions.

Carpools meet at the Hollywood Trader Joe's, 4121 NE Halsey in Portland at 9am sharp. It is across the street from the Hollywood Transit Center, near the I-84 exit 2. If you are able to drive, we greatly appreciate your contribution to helping make a successful hike. If you are looking for a ride, please come prepared to reimburse your driver.
