Video: How Dangerous is This Moment? and Tar Sands Protest at White House

Resistance and peace are part of our nature as antibodies are part of our bodies. The economy should be a part of life, not a steamroller crushing creativity and self-determination. The economy should serve humanity; humanity should not serve the economy.

justsomedude

last year I used to see TV ads about "tar sands". Now they call it "oil sands". I assume its a marketing gimick because it sounds better but is actually the same thing?

thanks

Yeah 30.Aug.2011 12:26

It's the same approach as marketing bush & obama & their ilk as "politicians" & "statesmen" when in fact they are criminals.

oil sands- glad u caught that 31.Aug.2011 23:20

yes

Surely that must be a new PR scheme. If it is, keep track of how often it is used in the corporate media. I bet in a few years "oil sands" will replace "tar sands" in the corporate press, just how "climate change" was a PR replacement for global warming.

Maybe activists should start doing the same thing but in reverse. Replace the word "tar sands" with "mercury-laiden crap that moves SUV's" and call global warming, "mass planetary habitat destruction", "global desertification," and or "hurricane inducing global sea-warming."
