Radical Mental Health Open Mic Night

The Portland Icarus Project is hosting an open mic night called "Mad Stories, Wild Songs." Everyone is invited to share stories of mental health/illness, experiences with the mental health industry, tools for individual and community healing, and dreams of liberation.
The open mic night will be held on Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at 7pm at Laughing Horse Books (12 NE 10th Avenue, just north of E. Burnside). It is free and open to all. Anyone is invited to bring songs, poems, stories and friends.

This event is the second open mic night hosted by the Portland Icarus Project, a peer-run radical mental health group.

Awesome idea 22.Jun.2011 11:51

sounds wonderful

This is actually an awesome idea. Mental health problems plague many of us, and it would be awesome to have a forum to talk about it and free ourselves from the stigma. I think it's a great idea!
