Animal experimentation kills untold millions of animals every year in the U.S. and across the world. Rats, mice, hamsters, rabbits, dogs, cats, monkeys, pigs, sheep, goats, fish, chickens, and many other animals die, often without even being counted. Their deaths pass without recognition by humans.
We believe that it is time for their lives to be remembered and their deaths to be memorialized. Therefore, we made May 29, 2011 the second Day of Mourning for Animals in Laboratories.
Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! is asking activists across the U.S. and around the world to participate in this event. We will be providing an actual memorial serviced to be used. And events in several locations will be led by ministers or animal chaplains.
It is important for the animals and for ourselves that we participate in this event. The animals must be remembered; we must try to give their deaths some meaning. And those of us that are living, dealing with these millions of deaths on a daily basis, we need these events too. It is often said that funerals are for the living. We hope that this event will help to remind all of us why we are working for the animals, and strengthen our resolve.
Remember the animals that have died in the labs. They deserve nothing less from us.
Remember, it is up to us to give meaning to the deaths of millions of animals. Join us!!
We are meeting at 9pm at Red & Black Cafe. We will be doing a night of home demonstrations.
