One Year Since Otis's Murder

On May 12th 2010 Keaton Otis was gunned down by racist Portland cops, after they falsely tagged him as a "gang memeber" and cornered him on a NE Portland street. In a last-ditch effort to rightfully defend himself, Otis managed to clip one of the pigs in the legs with his own weapon before he (Otis) finally fell in a hail of police gunfire. Unfortunately, the skinhead pig - Officer Christopher Burley - who was shot has since made a full recovery from his minor wounds and remains a dangerous Portland cop to this day.
There will be a memorial service in honour of Keaton Otis this Thursday May 12th. Details in the forwarded email message below:

Hi. Fred Bryant, father of Keaton Otis, had asked us to let folks in the community know about a memorial for Keaton on the one year anniversary of his death at the hands of the Portland Police; next Thursday, May 12 at 6 PM at the Miracles Club, 4069 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. This is not a rally or an examination of the incident, it is a memorial for Keaton. We've got the info, along with a link to the "Justice for Keaton Otis" Facebook page, on our site at  http://www.portlandcopwatch.org/otis.html On May 12, 2010 Keaton Otis was pulled over by Portland's "Hotspot Enforcement Action Team" (HEAT) for looking like a gang member and driving a nice car (his mother's Toyota). Officers punched him in the face and hit him with a Taser three times; one officer was hit by a bullet they say came from a gun Otis pulled from the glove compartment. A hail of 32 bullets was fired at Keaton, hitting him 23 times and killing him.EVENT: Thursday, May 12, 2011 6:00 PMA Celebration of Life: Keaton Otis, Jan. 4 1985-May 12, 2010 Miracles Club, 4069 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland
