Into The Streets

We must not keep the pressure on the sell out council
this must continue
this must continue
Because of the 5-0 vote on Portland re-joining the JTTF, Roberto and I will go back to City Hall each Wednesday before and during the scheduled council meetings. We will stand out front for a time with protest signs and hand out leaflets telling all those who pass by why we want all three candidates for office in 2012 to be replaced. This action by the City Council of Portland, Oregon is just outrageous and should be fought with all our might. You may have protested the day of the vote, but will you help us keep the heat on these people who trust the FBI and think our police will become snitches. That's what this resolution calls for, that the local police who are assigned to the JTTF will run to their chief and rat out the FBI--"Not Going to Happen."

The ACLU should be ashamed of their part in this process, they fought to stay away from the FBI but, like most cocktail liberals gave in at the last moment.

This council has harassed more houseless people than any other council, they are only paying attention to the business community and completely ignoring the very people who are trying to create some sense of justice here in Portland. The question for you my friends, will you join us in telling the lame three who are up for re-election they will not get our votes: Mayor Adams, Commissioners Fritz and Leonard.

We will be there each and every Wednesday from now until the election in 2012 for an hour or so starting at 0900--(9:00 AM) Bring your own sign and once again the only rule is be proud of what you say on your sign. "Into the streets I say!"

a mistake or just a way to get you to read the article? 01.May.2011 11:37

The opening line should read, "We must keep the pressure on this council." Well guess I will just put more pics up.

Down a Rabbit Hole 01.May.2011 12:37

We have seen social justice take a hit along with Civil liberties of every one of us. There are already enough walking wounded from Bush and his campaign to make PTSD too typical of a human trait in America. We have seen Florida, Arizona, Minneapolis, become law enforcement gang strongholds with Joe Arpeillo,in Phoenix. Many of us moved to Portland to escape this trend of oppression of human rights to simply disagree. Now, in some places, you get beaten, tortured or worse when you stand up to the County and City goon squads. It has become a dangerous national trend to further encumber the little guy who comprises the majority of Americans. It gets more and more punitive. Our leaders are here to say no more. And, yet, they seem to just take a spin down the rabbit hole with all these other unsuccessful models of city life. I was hoping for me with our Council. Council big "C" rather than just handing our community, and the safety we feel to protest and dare I say, be diverse, and different. Have we gotten so officious, so blighted by crime we need to look for it under every rock. This seems predatory, like many of the other things they are seeing if we will go for, like privatizing and putting sanctions on our water...If a government ceases to serve you, you have hostility with it. When a government serves the interests those who would try to destroy us or harm us, while lying to us, then it is our responsibility to stand up and fight them. No matter what their titles are, when they are in the wrong, they must be thwarted in a healthy society, not just for us, but for our children, and their children.

I thought this was alternative/anarchist website, not some front site for democrat party?

you were wrong 02.May.2011 23:50

oops

"Alternative" does not just mean "anarchist."

No this is not an anarchist web site. There are anarchists who post to it.

The Oregon Progressive Party has nothing to do with the cowardly democratic party. We stand for peace, we oppose JTTF and sit/lie nonsense. If you going to call us names would you please be accurate. Take a few moments and look at our positions and tell me again we look like the party of little joe lieberman, (I know he now calls himself an independent.) go to:
