New Wallmart commercial brimming with false hope, insulting!

Show me one place in the country where minimum wage will buy enough groceries and other essentials for 5 people, not to mention buy you a home.
Anyone seen the latest Wallmart TV commercial? A Hispanic woman with four kids, on welfare, gets a job at Wallmart. She then tells us how happy she is to be able to take care of her family and was also able to buy her first home. This ad is just plain insulting to every American struggling to raise a family right now. Show me one place in the country where minimum wage will buy enough groceries and other essentials for 5 people, not to mention buy you a home. I know a couple who want to have a kid and buy their first home too, she is a young lawyer and he a mechanical engineer, both employed, and they can't afford to do either.

oh, sob! 17.Feb.2011 11:55

wtf wallmart

Yep, f#ck Wallmart.

The middle class dream is dead ... people need to start living more collectively! It saves resources and is way more fun anyway.

I sure as hell won't ever be able to afford a house, but I don't feel entitled to that possibility. It just makes sense to team up with friends and do the cooperative ownership thing, live a more communal lifestyle, live simply and on the cheap, and have tons of fun in the process!

Share what ya got! Right?
