In light of recent events at Clark College in Vancouver, Wa in which opressed groups have been targeted by oppressive messages circulated throughout the campus The Students for Human Rights+Mother Earth!, the social and envionrmental justice club on campus, is throwing a diversity rally to focus on empowering, uniting and educating targeted and ally students. Clark campus administration has remained silent concerning these oppressive messages and the students are taking a stand. All discussion surrounding these oppressive messages has focused only of "freedom of speech" while ignoring the affect that speech has on targeted students' safety. This is a time for students to get together and focus on ourselves, this is not a time to call out groups or individuals or talk about "freedom of specch"--that's not what this is about, this is about focusing on students and allies whose voices are being ignored and drowned out. This is huge for vancouver, we are not always the most progressive place, please come show solidarity, the event will be at the clark campus on november 11th @ clark college, 11am @ the chime tower.
