Fall Street/Protest Medic Training (Oct 15-17)--Sign up Now!

Just 2.5 weeks before the Rosehip Medics present a Fall season Street Medic training--leading into a cool, wet, & hopefully active Fall & Winter. Learn the basics of providing first aid, emergency support, & DIY healthcare for protests/actions & sustaining communities of resistance & liberation. We have space, but not much time. Returning medics are welcome for refreshers & as volunteers.

This training will be composed of introductory emergency medicine, support work in radical communities, anti-oppression, folk & herbal medicines. While this will largely focus on medical needs for urban marches and actions, this training is easily tailored to wilderness spaces, your place of work, and all your favorit haunts. We teach from our own manual, with lecture, practical, and scenario-based approaches--(almost) all materials provided.

As in the past, the training will last a 3-day weekend--June 11th -13th (Fri 5-9, Sat/Sun 9-6) and we are hoping to see faces both new & old. Out-of-towners will be accommodated, as well as other needs to the extent possible. Some food will be provided. Childcare references are available upon request.

Participants vary in level of medical background from complete noobs to doctors, nurses, experienced herbalists & paramedics--but we confer no legal certification. Consequently we ask only funds to cover our costs & hold each participant's place (usually comes to $20).

We welcome returning medics (seeking refreshers) and are actively seeking out volunteers ('patient' actors, food donation, & childcare). We cannot provide these trainings without help!

If you have questions about who we are or what a street medic is, please visit our website. There you can learn a bit about us and find links to some great community resources--whether or not you come to our training. If you are interested, but can only make part of our training, we invite you to volunteer & get a sense for what we & this training are about. We also teach community wellness workshops from time to time, so feel free to email us & find out about future events.

To register for the Medic Training, get on our email list, and/or have your questions answered, please email right away. We will address them as quickly as possible. Hope you check us out & to see you in the classroom, streets and neighborhood.
