The Portland Alliance is another form of alternative print media that is currently facing top down oppression by members of the PA Board of Directors who have locked out we who actually work to produce the paper and perform all duties assigned to us. We feel that there are a vast number of actions that the Board has taken (and NOT taken) that are in direct contrast to our PA bylaws.
We need to get back into the office on schedules that work for us! Currently, the only way that we can gain entrance to the office is dependent upon the schedule of a Board member who has a key. We are then forced to do our work under the eye of a Board babysitter who will not leave until we do. This is utterly demeaning!
There is an open Board meeting tomorrow night at 6 pm at the Alliance office at SE 28th and Stark. There is time set aside at the beginning of the meeting for public comment. This lockout is only one of the roadblocks that members of the PA Board have strived to stop publication of the Alliance. Please come to learn more about these actions and engage in a dialog with the Alliance board. And support the PA Editorial Committee/Collective!
