Congress was so ashamed that they needed to hide the blood money for the surge in Afghanistan.

H.R.4899: Making supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2010, and for other purpose

May 27, 2010 Roll call number 176 in the Senate Question On Passage of the Bill (H.R. 4899, As Amended) Ayes: 67 (Democrat: 53; Republican: 12; Other: 2) Nays: 28 (Democrat: 2; Republican: 26) Abstained: 5 (Democrat: 2; Republican: 3) Required percentage of 'Aye' votes: 1/2 (50%) Percentage of 'aye' votes: 67%

Result: Bill Passed

This is where the Senate passed amendments to make this bill into a Supplemental for the War/Occupation of Afghanistan, (Obama's Surge.) The Bill HR 4899 is now a way for the President to get his blood money, but there are problems in the House, some "Anti-War Dems" do not want to vote for a war supplemental, but could be bought off with some social programs. The GOP will vote for more killings but not for more social programs; the Bill HR 4899 could fail.

The Democrats came up with a plan: There will not be a vote on the Bill that came from the Senate, just a vote on a rule that would pass the bill if the Rule wins. The vote on the Rule was 215-210 just made it, (213 yes votes for passage.) Pelosi is happy, now to cover the asses of the would be "Anti-War Dems" she allows a few amendments to the bill that she knows will fail but the "Progressives" will be able to tell their constituents, "I voted for stopping the supplemental after I voted for the supplemental." Sound familiar? Bottom line you will be lied to again, all you really need to remember is that the democrats are in charge and once again we are continuing an immoral, and some say illegal wars/occupations in Afghanistan and Iraq. We must stand up and say enough! No more nice constituents, we are going to vote all you warmongering "pissants" out of office. Those who think the republicans or the democrats care about them are fools and will continue to be disappointed at every turn.

We are returning to protest in front of our congressman's office come this Wednesday and every third Wednesday of the month until the earlman comes out and apologizes for his deception, resigns or announces he will not run again and goes into the darkness. I know the events in the House are confusing, they are by design, they do not want you to understand what they did on July 1-2-3. HR 4899 is now back in the Senate, if the Senate makes changes to the bill it will have to come back to the House and we may get another shot at stopping the money flow; but don't bet on it. Obama wants his blood money, has already started sending more troops to begin the "Surge" and the Congress once again will capitulate to the Executive Branch.

So come and join us on the 21st of July, I have my new sign holder, (holds 6 posters-3 two sided) will bring my sense of humor, and we will be there about an hour. This is in coordination with a PDA Brown Bag Lunch protest all across the land.

Date: 21st of July
Loc: 729 NE Oregon St
Time: High Noon

Bring a sign!

The supplemental is back in the House 22.Jul.2010 23:03

Barbara was the first to tell me about the Senate passing the bill back to the House, thanks Barbara, and now we must call the earlman in DC and maybe he will stand for peace and not give the war mongers more morney.
From David Swanson:

From UFPJ:

The Senate just passed the 2010 Supplemental Spending bill, taking out the education funding and other useful things the House had added,

This means the House will be voting again on the Supplemental maybe as early as Monday. UFPJ will be working with other national groups to maximize calls to Representatives asking for a "No" vote.

We'll have some text by tomorrow. But there's no reason to wait...The issue is clear. Nine years into the war, the Administration still lacks clear goals, a coherent strategy or any "exit plan."

Three week ago, 162 members of the House supported an Amendment calling for a time-table for withdrawal.
There is no time-table and the administration seems more muddled than ever in explaining its intentions. We need quick and effective pressure from the grass-roots supporting members of Congress, who are willing to act responsibly by voting "No"on the war-funding.

Congressional Switchboard: 202-224-3121.

Please put this out to every list you have, we may be able to stop this bill, we must try.
