Democracy Now! Paramilitaries Kill Two Human Rights Activists in Oaxaca
 http://www.democracynow.org/2010/4/30/paramilitaries_kill_two_human_rights_activists

On April 27th a caravan bringing humanitarian aid to the Triqui
community of San Juan Copala (declared autonomous and under siege)
in Oaxaca,Mexico was ambushed by paramilitaries. Two were killed,
several others wounded, others missing for days before returning to
safety. This coming Tuesday, June 8, a new larger aid caravan will be
reaching Copala from Oaxaca City and Mexico, DF, to break the siege
once and for all. The community of Copala as well as Caravan
organizers have called on the international community to show support
in hopes of avoiding further attacks. The social rebellion in Oaxaca that
has flourished in recent years in the face of extreme state repression
has been an inspiration in Portland and around the world. International
solidarity has played it's role in providing support, denouncing state
violence, spreading information and recognizing the global nature of
resistance and repression like what we've seen in Oaxaca.

"...We echo the call sent out by San Juan Copala to all the peoples of
Oaxaca, Mexico, and the world to mobilize next June 8, to help the Bety
Cariño and Jyri Jaakkola Humanitarian Caravan break the paramilitary
siege around the autonomous municipality...In view of the situation of
constant paramilitary hostility experienced by the townspeople, we call
on all of you in Oaxaca, Mexico, and the world to organize film showings,
rallies, encampments, marches, roadblocks, embassy takeovers, and
any and all actions possible in your local situation to bring public attention
to the Bety Cariño and Jyri Jaakkola Humanitarian Caravan and assist it in
achieving its goals."  http://casota.wordpress.com/

Long live the peoples' struggle!
Paramilitaries out of the region!
Break the paramilitary siege on June 8!
...Because justice and peace can only be achieved by building from below!
