Raise Your Voice Against the CMU - Break the Silence on JUNE 2, 2010!

What's the latest?

In March 2010, the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) filed a federal lawsuit challenging the policies and conditions of two Communications Management Units (CMUs) on behalf of prisoners and their family members.
Just several weeks ago, after more than three years without public comment and accountability, the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has proposed rules regarding the CMU.

The BOP released their new proposed rules and the public (that means you, your friends, anyone) is able to submit comments (your thoughts and opinions) for a 90-day period.

What can you do?

SUBMIT COMMENTS!! GO HERE FOR INFO:  http://www.ccrjustice.org/cmu-comments

Please weigh in on this important issue and comment on these incredibly troubling and punitive proposed rules.

There is no need to send a very long letter. Comments can be submitted online or via snail mail*. We strongly encourage civil rights & liberties groups, legal organizations, and community and faith-based groups to comment, as well as individuals.

Please consider joining CCR as they collectively submit comments to the BOP on Wednesday, June 2, 2010**.

*Please send copies via email to:  nzamani@ccrjustice.org or via regular mail to: Nahal Zamani, Center for Constitutional Rights, 666 Broadway, 7th floor, New York, NY 10012.
**The official deadline for comments is June 7, 2010, no later.
