Upcoming DEQ Hearing on PGE's Boardman Plant

Portland General Electric (PGE) operates Oregon's only coal plant located in Boardman, Oregon. The Boardman Coal Plant emits 5 million tons of carbon dioxide, over 15,000 tons of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide and over 200 pounds of mercury every single year making it Oregon's largest stationary source of air and global warming pollution.
We need you to tell the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to follow the Clean Air Act and hold the Boardman coal plant to the highest air quality standards.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is now reviewing a Title V operating permit that would allow PGE's Boardman plant to continue polluting our environment and harming our health. This permit is an opportunity for DEQ to require full compliance with the Clean Air Act by requiring the best available pollution control technology at the plant.

Please submit a comment today to the Oregon DEQ today urging them to force the Boardman coal plant to clean up its act and stop polluting our communities.

We need to show PGE the breadth of support that we have to shut down Boardman and clean up our air and our planet. Here are the details for the hearing.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 4th 6:30 pm

WHERE: DEQ Headquarters
Conf, Room EQC-A (10th floor)
811 SW 6th Ave Portland OR
