don't do it

It sounds like this group is trying to do a similar thing to Copwatch--Portland has 3 established CopWatch groups, including Rose City CopWatch, that have gained community trust by consistently solid actions. Their web page is:  http://rosecitycopwatch.wordpress.com/ and their phone number is: 503.715.1409

And also duplicating Rose City Antifa, who have been at this work for years, and only release impeccably researched information to the community. Their website is: rosecityantifa.org and their number is: 971.533.7832

stay safe!

Two Clarifications 26.Apr.2010 12:51

Kristian Williams

There seems to be a bit of confusion in the Discussion section about Rose City Copwatch, its work, and its role in this debate.

I'm a member of Copwatch, but I'm not representing the organization here. I just want to clarify a couple things:

First:

Some of the people in this thread seem to assume that RCCW authored the "Duplicating Efforts" comment. We didn't.

Far from any attempt to monopolize the work, a major part of our m.o., now and for the last seven years, has been to teach people how to copwatch, help them set up their own copwatch groups, and do what we can to spread the copwatching ethic. Over the years, we've partnered with several organizations on copwatch-type projects, including NoPo CopStop and the Portland Community Liberation Front. And, we're offering a training on How To Copwatch on May 8th, 2-5pm, PSU Smith room 236.

Secondly:

Rose City Copwatch doesn't run an incident report line, but Portland Copwatch (a seperate organization) does. That number is: (503) 321-5120.

in solidarity,
Kristian Williams
(Rose City Copwatch member)

Pointing Out The Obvious

Did it occur to you that if you post a number and say you will respond that you're setting yourself up for a date with nazis. You'll be eating curbs & pissing out your kidneys before you knew what the hell was going on.

I applaud your spirit kid. But you might want to do a little research with people who have experience with nazis (there are lots of experienced locals) and think things through a little farther.
