Northstar Infoshop is teaming up with Copyleft Books to open a brand new radical bookstore in Southeast Portland! |
The new store will use the Copyleft Books name, but will be a mix of our unique interests and personalities. The store will carry a wide range of titles on radical politics, community building, sustainable living, and DIY skills. Copyleft will also be offering their one-of-a-kind collection of vintage sci-fi, early edition radical literature, and rare fiction.
This is an awesome opportunity for us to work together and unite our talents, while allowing both of us to grow and strengthen. For Northstar, it will significantly boost our fundraising, allowing us to save up money towards our ultimate goal: opening a full-scale community bookstore and free school.
Tentative opening date: June 1st!
We're aiming to raise an extra $5,000 between now and then to help ensure that our first few months are successful. It may sound like a lot, but if 1000 people gave us just five dollars, we'd be there! Visit our donate page for more info!
The new store will be located at 833 SE Main #108 in the ActivSpace complex, which is also home to Eberhardt Press, Black Sheep Bakery, A Convenient Cycle bike shop, and more. The location is currently occupied by Microcosm Publishing, who's moving in mid-May.
We're planning a ton of events for our opening month! For updates, follow us on Facebook and Twitter, or email us at email@example.com and ask to be added to our monthly mailing list.
