Sea lion defenders held a community building vegan faux fish fry and sea lion party in the Columbia gorge today. Mother nature smiled on the event. On the way up we could see that spring had brought new life into the world again. The trees are all leafing out in tender green again, and the salmon are churning up into the river again. With them, as always, have come the sea lions and the osprey and the eagles and all the others who awaken and return with the spring. Thanks to everyone who turned out! I will let the pictures speak louder than the words.

I learned a lot about sea lions and salmon. I loved the music and the food, and I think we should have many more events like this. I met some new people and I feel a growing energy to do something to make this better. Thank you to everyone who put this together.
What fun! Finally a day to be happy and celebrate all the good work we are doing together. Cheers to the cheerleaders and my compliments to the chefs. Did everyone remember to shower when they got home, due to the poison oak?
