Mark your calendars and reserve your spot on the Cool Bus for a road trip party in the Columbia River Gorge with beer, food and friends! On Saturday, April 10th, In Defense of Animals (IDA) and Sea Lion Defense Brigade are hosting a chauffeured day of community building for the sea lion campaign on the Columbia River at the Bonneville Dam, complete with field discussions about the campaign, river ecology, salmon and sea lions with the breathtaking view of the gorge as the backdrop. The designated driver has all been arranged so we can safely share a keg of local micro brew and fire up the deep fryer for a faux fish fry feast with friends. You won't want to miss it so RSVP now for a seat on the bus today! Reserve your spot at  matt@idausa.org or 503-249-9996.
As you know, IDA is hard at work to set the record straight about the maligned sea lions who are being scapegoated and killed by wildlife agencies for simply eating fish in a misguided program that will not work to bring back the salmon.

We will meet at the IDA office, and for a $5 donation, catch a ride together on the Cool Bus, a biodiesel activist-mover, and ride together on a scenic drive up the Columbia River Gorge to the Bonneville Dam. There we will meet up with the volunteers who have been keeping a 24-hour vigil for the sea lions from the "Sea Wolf," an RV mobile monitoring station painted with a beautiful mural depicting salmon and sea lions swimming.
The agenda: After a quick tour of the site and question and answer about the volunteer monitoring, activists we will take time to spot sea lions. With a pint of brew in hand, learn more about the campaign at an informal talk, and then we'll get down to the business of fun, friends and food!

the benefit last night was really cool! the SLDB really knows how to throw a party.

i'll definitely be there for this! (i really hope that the people going up are planning to really contribute something to this cause, though, and not just tag along for the food, beer, and party.)
