Fight the Corporate Media!

Now's the time to get our side of the story out! Folks we must begin printing thousands of our communiqués getting the word out about this past week of amazing community resistance to the brutal police force.
Now's the time to get our side of the story out! Folks we must begin printing thousands of our communiqués getting the word out about this past week of amazing community resistance to the brutal police force. Anyone can write a communiqué about their experience, thoughts and perspectives. Its easy!It doesn't have to be the most beautiful or length piece either. It can be a simple note that takes two minutes to write. The important thing is that you get your thoughts on paper and personally hand them out to another human being.

For starters, It might not hurt to explain why the "black bloc", as the media has so cleverly titled all who hit the streets in order to sensationalize and demonize the protest, masks up due to our controlled monitored police state society, give them concrete examples of government infiltration and destruction of social movements and their leaders like any of the co-Intel pro cases.

We cant fight the media through posting blogs and Indymedia articles online alone. We must get out into the streets and the Pioneer Squares and hand out leaflets and communiqués and look people in the eye as we do it. This allows us to engage in dialogue with other people who don't think exactly think like we do and show that we are not the monsters the media proclaims, as well as give that individual a perspective on the situation that they might not ever hear through their own social networks. We must let people know why we must stand up and fight capitalism, this empirical state and its murderous henchmen the police bureau.

Lets not forget about the severity of the crisis we are in, its no time to lax, we have the upper hand we have shown the people that the police force and the oppressive forces it represents have not gained complete control over our communities and neighborhoods. Weve shown that our communities have a fighting chance at liberating themselves of all of this states various controlling and oppressive forces and traps. Lets not loose the hearts and minds of those we have fought so hard to gain! Again anyone can write a communiqué about their experience, thoughts and perspectives. Don't be afraid to get out their and do some door to door style grassroots outreach on this issue and the general ideals of the circle A. Will you please write at least one communique and pass out a few hundred copies to in your hood get the word out about your perspective on the recent killings, if you were a participant in the recent protests and feel justice must be served for Aaron Campbell and Jake Collins?

during the March 29th protest I witnessed numerous people struck with batons, slammed to the ground, hit with bike frames and sprockets, and a girl pushed to the ground then pushed down again as she tried to stand. One cop on a horse intentionally smashed 3 people together against another horse. The crowds that we passed were supportive and many bystanders joined in with the rally. Supporting the activists who refuse to capitulate should come without prompting, but I'll mention that the comments criticizing the black bloc I read have proposed nothing to alternately deal with the reality of brutality, class war and the police state. So, if you've got nothing nice to say, say some mean shit to the ones deserving of it. Kill capitalism before it kills you!

I filmed right next to the corporate media and then listen to them tell a completely different story than the one I filmed ...

You Be The Media

Ignore the corporate media 03.Apr.2010 00:08

Wanna "fight the media"?

Your best bet would be, "ignore the media."

Be yourself.

If you're an ass, it will show, and the corporate media won't need to do anything special to make a fool out of you.

If you've got it together and are patient and things go your way, with just a little luck, you'll get some very respectable stuff done, and nothing the corporate media says or does will stop you.

So if the media are unfavorable, ignore them.

If they're favorable (which occasionally they ARE!) then use them.

Keep it simple. You don't need to have a doctorate in media relations. You don't need a monumental theory and practice of fighting capitalism. All you need is a little vision of how to make some decent, humane improvements in the situation here-and-now, and the gumption to stick to it.
