DISRUPT the opening ceremonies! at Pioneer Square on Friday.

Friday the 12th, at pioneer square, the opening ceremonies of the olympics will be aired live on two large screens. I am not sure what time this is, but I do know that a disruption would be in good form.

Everyone is invited to this free public viewing event of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games Opening Ceremony at Portland's Pioneer Square.

The spirit of the Olympics will extend from one Northwest city to another as the square is transformed into the ultimate living room setting for winter sports enthusiasts, complete with two giant LCD screens, interviews with Oregon Olympians, live music from Rhythm Culture, warm drinks and a hockey goal-scoring challenge.

Sheila Hamilton will be there, along with KGW's Drew Carney, Governor Kulongoski, Mayor Sam Adams and more!

Disruption!!! 11.Feb.2010 01:59

CCN

Stand in solidarity it with our comrads to the north who are taking the brunt of the police state repression under the Olympic $1 billion security budget. Many activists are being detained and refused access into Canada including several Portlanders simply because of their affiliations with groups such as Greenpeace! Get the word out and don't let this corporate sham go un-protested in Portland. The world needs to be reminded of the ongoing genocide being committed against the indigenous of North America in Canada and the States. The Olympics are a front to steamroll over all who oppose genocide & facism and stand up against poverty and homelessness. Friday at 5pm in Pioneer Square, lets set the record straight for these Imperialistic capitalist pigz.

Do folks think that just meeting up in the square would be adequate at 5pm? or should we meet farther away from the event then march there?

So, before you post anything about meeting, at least try to find out the TIME of the event. I mean, really. It's called effort and you lack it.
