Define Corporation 31.Jan.2010 23:01

Dan N

Did you know that some of the tuition students pay goes back to the state and does not cover PSU costs?
Did you know that grants to PSU for projects and research have to kick back money to the state for administrative costs to support state government?
Did you know that UofO and OSU get a net gain in funds from the state, but PSU loses money in fact has to raise tuition to cover what the state bills them?
Did you know Street Roots, Sisters of the Road, Dignity Village and Mercy Corps are all corporations?
All 501 c3's are corporations.

maybe this explains 31.Jan.2010 23:19

watch video 5 ...it explains, why corporation ownership isnt a good idea.

Thank You 01.Feb.2010 21:43

PSU Student

Thank you joe for being out there and covering these issues sometimes I feel like the students are not being supported here on Indy Media. You proved me wrong today. Also keep informed because my feeling is that this is only just the beginning this is the start of a growing student movement in the United State and the world.

Refocus/rethink

So many people's perceptions are corporately controlled and they don't even know it. That's how they were able to 'sell us' the "war on terror" which was really the 'war for oil'/war for power& control - with no end in sight. To many people, news is only news if it goes through the socially accepted filter of the 'corporate mainstream media news filter'. The majority of the time what's reported on the corporate news has little to do with the truth about things. Here's something to ponder— is news actually the news if it never gets reported??? How can people know what's going on if they don't have access to information? Filtered news/information is not news in my opinion. Just because you're told something is the truth that doesn't necessarily mean that it is. Think about how the corporate news decides to 'spin a story'— they take it, and attempt to "own it", and regurgitate it for the masses in the way in which they want the story to be told/perceived. It is mass manipulation and deception. It's insidious. Lies lead to more lies. We're lied to constantly about so much that goes on in the world.

"In times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." - George Orwell

Much of it begins in the schools (indoctrination). It all begins there with how things begin to be "socially acceptable" with how people choose to see things- the way in which they perceive the world and what they decide is the truth about events that take place. How are students even able to begin discussions about these topics that are openly talked about here @ (PIMC) when in the schools, students are rarely given a platform or exposure to the various topics that are familiar to anyone who relies on independent media to formulate viewpoints? Do they even talk about 'corporate personhood' in the schools these days or transnational corporations and how it relates to globalization? Does anyone ever talk about the lies relating to what really happened on 9/11 or are they just immediately shot down as being some sort of 'crackpot'? People are led to believe that what they have to say is just "crazy" so that power can be taken away from their contribution/what they have to share. Personally, I just find it curious when people are discouraged from having debate and talking about things. There's so much bullying that goes on in school and society. So much pressure to 'conform'; so much thought control.

There is so much pressure to 'think' in the same way as the 'majority' in society. We are told it's wrong to ask questions about 9/11. We are told it's wrong to be gay. We are told that to be in a "minority group" we are powerless and should not have equal rights. We are told being a vegan has no positive consequences on the planet in terms of sustainability and in terms of having compassion towards other sentient living creatures. We are told we need not respect the lives of others on the planet. We are told animals are merely resources to be exploited— for our own use & consumption and for our own disposal. How often are we told in school or from the corporate media about the crisis of species loss?

Mass Extinction Underway - Biodiversity Crisis  http://www.well.com/~davidu/extinction.html

We are told we are powerless in assisting in the healing of the Earth or in contributing to our own species 'positive evolution' in the way we choose to live on the planet. We are told to not be outspoken or have our own unique perspective. Majority rules and dominates everyone else. Oppression takes many forms. Having ones thoughts controlled is oppressive. I am never going to conform to become what others want me to be because I am myself, I am me and I am free. Having the ability to think freely and independently is liberating. Free your mind.

We are only as good as the information we are given/have access to. I choose to not be a "corporate zombie". I choose freedom of thought. I choose to think independently and for myself. We all have the freedom to make up our own minds about everything that goes on in life and are free to change our minds and think in new ways. We can do this if we break away from the "corporately controlled" way of thinking (access independent & alternative media). We can refuse to be 'brainwashed' both at school and from corporate television exposure. We can create and own our identity. We can embrace our individuality and respect others who break away from the "system". I respect those of us who 'go against the flow' and stand against the 'popular culture way of seeing things'. It's not easy and sometimes it beats you down. When you're a sensitive person it is always a struggle. Sometimes it's hard to stand up for what you believe. We just need to maintain our integrity and keep fighting for justice on ALL FRONTS. Everything is connected. Power to the people & animals always. Truth will set us all free. Everything starts at the grassroots.

*War for oil & money*---corporate takeover over country, world, culture and consciousness. Lies are told so money can be made. The more lies... the more money. It's all about money & profit, power & control. It's the same throughout history. History repeats itself unless people care, speak out, and rise up against it. War criminals need to be held accountable- for crimes against humanity and crimes against the planet. We need to demand justice. War destroys the Earth and there needs to be "real change"— not just platitudes and status quo talking heads "talking in circles" and never ending betrayal. It's time we say "enough!" It's time we "CHANGE THE SYSTEM" for real. If not NOW. . .when? No more lies & illusion. No more status quo 'business as usual'. If you really want to 'be the change' then you have to speak out. Together we can create a cultural change, a revolution of thought. We just need to stop seeing ourselves as powerless. Solidarity for solutions.

There is no pride & glory in war. There is no such thing as "war heroes". That's like saying there's such a thing as "peace killers". The two words don't go together. It's oxymoronic. There are only people who were misled/"lied into" war. People are 'used' in the system. When they are no longer useful for the "agenda of war"— they are forgotten and disposable. The system uses us all. War is a racket, for money & profit. Historically, war is based on deception. History is "rewritten" for the masses consumption. Whoever controls the past controls the future. I don't 'buy into' fake consumer culture/war mentality ($$$). All wars start with lies. A "pretext" is created. There's no denying that 'false flags' are real. There's no denying that we were lied into war.

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious."

People (politicians/so-called "leaders") shouldn't have a 'free pass' to destroy the planet. They shouldn't be able to get away with it. There needs to be consequences for those responsible; if there are not, then similar actions might be repeated in the future. War criminals (past & present) need to be held accountable. I guess what it comes down to is this— if you came to the realization that we were being lied to on a monumental scale would you 'speak out' or would you stay silent? To 'choose' to remain ignorant of reality is dangerous. We can 'choose' to see through the illusions and the myths. Just stop buying the lies. People deserve the truth in 'all areas of inquiry'.

For clarification to what I wrote above. I choose to respect and have compassion for sentient life. 'Sentience' being the key word. I choose to not be speciest. Animals are conscious and capable of deep feelings of love. They love their offspring and they love their lives. They are aware. Animals deserve basic rights, dignity, and happiness. They don't deserve what they are subjected to. As a species— humans need to aspire to evolving beyond the subjugation of all other species on Earth.

The video above "Meat Is Murder" urges people to become 'vegetarian for life'. I was just putting emphasis on the importance of being 'VEGAN for Life' because it lessens the depth of oppression and exploitation caused by factory farms and the use of dairy. By just being vegetarian you are still contributing to the system in place. It's all connected. When there's a demand for dairy & farm products and the animals used to provide them (milk, cheese, eggs) it perpetuates the slaughter of countless animals after they've outlived their "usefulness". This is an important distinction and something to consider when people make the "choice" to embrace a "lifestyle of following their conscience".

A 'war on animals' really is a war on all of us. War does not lead to "sustainability" or a livable future. Oppression is oppression. Exploitation is exploitation. Murder is murder. If peace on Earth is the goal then animal cruelty in all its many forms must end. We are all in this together. It's time to break down the divisions. Animal liberation is self-liberation. Free animals from tyranny and "man-made domination". Animals are not objects to be used and abused. Focus on freedom for all. Peace will become reality worldwide when we allow compassion to become our compass and the standard we all hold in the highest of priority. I find inspiration in the complexity and diversity of the world of animals. They are what sustains me and they make life worth living.

Animals = Life
Sentience & Sustainability
