Benefit Show for the 2010 Olympics Resisters

The 2010 Winter Olympics will take place on unceded indigenous land in the Coast Salish Territories. Far from being simply about 'sport', the history of the Olympics is one rooted in displacement, corporate greed, fascism, repression, and violence. Those with the most to gain from the Olympics are the political and corporate elite - from real estate developers to private security corporations.
The bands performing will be Riot Cop, the Dapper Cadavers, Dopesmoker, Nahko and the Medicine for the People and more. Suggested donations of 5-10$ no one turned away for lack of funds. Proceeds are going to the Native Youth Movement in their fight against the Olympics.Come show support for people directly resisting the 2010 Olympics with a fun benefit show on Saturday January 30th at In Other Words Books (8 NE Killingsworth suite B near Williams). Starting at 6:30pm there will be a Potluck dinner and presentation showcasing the political, environmental and economical situations surrounding Vancouver and the upcoming Olympics. Music starts at 8pm.
