In the video footage, a cluster of armed police officers can be seen brutally attacking and beating a 12 year old girl. Officer Humphreys actually takes out a bean bag gun and shoots the pre-teen at close range, all for the crime of "riding the max when she wasn't supposed to."
And just as clearly, in the video footage, we can see the max train parked next to the scene, filled with hundreds of people passively watching from the windows of the train. A few people step off the train to get a better look, but NO ONE LIFTS A FINGER to stop the attack. No one does a FUCKING THING.
What is wrong with us, that we're so disabled by a uniform and perceived authority, that we will allow a little girl to be beaten, bludgeoned, and finally SHOT, right in front of us, and NOT ONE PERSON lifts a finger to stop it???
Do we just write it off because the assailants were police officers??? Isn't this what everyone did in Nazi Germany???
To make matters worse, the corporate news continues their little game of blocking the faces of those who participated in the attack. Scott Westerman of the police union was posturing his decrepit little body around on the news tonight challenging Portlanders to "watch that video" and see that the officers were perfectly justified because, despite the fact that she is only 12 years old, despite the fact that she was unarmed, despite the fact that she was outnumbered by huge, armed men, Westerman claims that "this person was violent," and that she had it coming. Isn't that what they always say?
For SHAME Scott. For SHAME all of you Portland police thugs who think they can keep getting away with this. I saw we all arm ourselves, and next time, STEP UP AND PROTECT EACH OTHER from these thugs.
Oh. Now I see "Fox 12" is now having a poll asking people whether they think the act was justified. Apparently, Scott Westerman and his pod of oozing pus-filled sores are all multiple posting, because the last I looked, the poll claims that more than 70% of respondents say the attack was justified. Oh, God, please vote. Not that it means anything at all, but I can't stand them smugly thinking they can get away with this. Even if they have gotten away with it over and over again. Humor me. Crazy world!
For not paying a fare on the MAX or being "excluded"?
This shit is psychotic?
In school we used to say
"pick on somebody your own size"
Grown men ... that we citizens put in uniforms
and they treat people like this!
It looked like she almost was pushed/thrown over the railing into traffic
The police were suppose to be investigating a rowdy party
Looks like they made their own rowdy party
