"The allegations came to light last week when the details of a federal class action lawsuit brought in December by three former University of Phoenix students became public. According to the lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court in Little Rock, Ark., the university has been paying off the federal loans of students who drop out soon after enrolling without their "knowledge or consent." The institution then allegedly turned around and demanded immediate repayment from these former students of tuition owed" (http://www.newamerica.net/blog/higher-ed-watch/2009/memo-secretary-duncan-investigate-university-phoenix-9601) Under the FALSE CLAIMS ACT: According to Wikipidia: The False Claims Act (31 U.S.C. ? 3729-3733, also called the "Lincoln Law") is an American federal law which allows people who are not affiliated with the government to file actions against federal contractors claiming fraud against the government. The act of filing such actions is informally called "whistleblowing." Persons filing under the Act stand to receive a portion (usually about 15-25 percent) of any recovered damages (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_Claims_Act). contact Melissa at lissa2182000@yahoo.com
