Burning Man Reflections

A poignant piece of graffiti art from the Temple structure at Burning Man 2009. The entire structure and everything in and written on it was ceremonially incinerated on the night of Sept 6th. The Temple provides a beautiful window into the soul of the emerging, alternative artist community assimilated by the Burning Man experience.

MARLEE...

There was a time when
I was not the man I
wanted to be. Isolated
and lonely I cried out
into nothing for answers.
What I thougt was nothing
was me being blind, but
this handed to me by those
I call my friend pointed
me the way to start anew.

As I walk outside the
shadow a new me comes
to light. Who has, all I
want and need with nothing
but surprises to follow.
So, I wander on to find
what I really need which
brough me here. And while
I'm not there yet, I
know I'm coming closer
to what I'm looking for.
