Join your friends and neighbors at the Blue Heron Infoshop's inaugural
social justice workshops! Featuring music, discussion, games, and
activities to deepen our understanding of liberation.
Steel Strings & Break Beats is a group of queer folks and people of
color on tour with the goal to use their music and personal experience
in social movements to support resistance and real change everywhere.
11AM: Community Organizing 101: Bursting the Campus Bubble
This workshop focuses on practical skills for students who want to get
involved in community organizing and use their resources to directly
support grassroots movements for change. Topics include anti-racism,
media skills, building trust, event organizing and outreach, direct
action, and group dynamics. Part discussion, part strategy session, the
workshop will be be participant driven.
2PM: Queers, Communities, and Gentrification
This workshop focuses on the intersection of LGBTQ liberation and
resistance to gentrification and racism.
