Netherlands To Close Prisons

Interpol, FBI, RCMP, and other law enforcement agencies will have much trouble wrapping their feeble little brains around this.

Netherlands to Close Prisons, Not Enough Criminals

For many years, government agencies, such as the DEA, RCMP, FBI, etc., have made continous false claims that the tolerant drug (marijuana) laws of the Netherlands have made that country a hotbed of drug abuse and violent crime.

The Dutch government is now preparing to close eight prisons because there are not enough felons to keep them full, which is due to a falling national crime rate.

For example, let's compare the U.S. to the Netherlands. The prison population in the Netherlands is about 12,000, with a national population of 16.6 million people. The population of California is 36.7 million people with a prison population of about 171,000.

So, the question is, does the drug policies of the U.S., Canada, U.K., and other democracies keep the public safe from the (so-called) drug wars?
