Green Party

Wondering what it will take to vitalize the Green Party?
I read through Indymedia reports and comments and am struck by the same conversations we've been for the full decade Indymedia has been around regarding the total failure of Democrats to actually stand for something and lead any type of social change.

I did not vote for Obama. I had a flicker of hope and was actually starting to get on board until he voted to continue domestic spying and corporate immunity with his FISA vote. Right then I knew he was just another status quo politician and not worthy of my vote.

The Green Party is just over 15 years old in the US. There are all kinds of obstacles to success (Read "Grand Illusion" by Theresa Amato) yet, we know the repeated failures of the Democrats, over and over again. They are part of the system and part of the problem.

The Green Party as a matter of principle stands for peace, sustainability, democracy and justice.

For 18 years, the Pacific Green Party here in Oregon has stood firmly for universal, Single Payer health care. There is no doubt where the PGP stands on this issue and yet health care advocates put their hopes with the corporate sponsored Democrats who let them down every time.

For 18 years, the Pacific Green Party here in Oregon has stood firmly for peace and non-violence. There is no doubt where the PGP stands on this issue and yet peace and anti-war advocates put their hopes with the corporate sponsored Democrats who let them down every time.

In 18 years, not a single green party candidate or affiliate has taken a dime from corporate America. This is a matter of principle. Yet we all know the Democrats are funded and owned by corporate America.

When will you stop this insanity?

I realize the Green Party has issues but nothing that couldn't be fixed with money and some dedicated volunteers.
