Red and Black Cafe - Communique

Happy September!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Red and Black Café Communique
9/1/09

Happy September! There are less events this month than normal due to our projector being broken. Anyone want to lend us a projector? Please get in contact with us. Also, please note that our booking address has changed. It is now:  redandblackbooking@riseup.net. Finally, we are proud to announce that we are now an IWW closed-shop! More on this to come in the near future...

CROSS TRADE SOLIDARITY MEETING // 9.3

This group will be meeting at the café twice monthly to talk about building solidarity across different worker's trades. The first, smaller newsletter meeting will be on the First Thursday of every month at 6pm, and the larger meeting will be the Third Sunday of every month at 6pm. Get in touch with them for more details!

MUSIC: SETH MARTIN, PLUS SPECIAL GUESTS // 9.5

Anarchist singer-songwriter Seth Martin will be back with a larger band this time playing more traditionals, union songs and originals. Come check it out!

MUSIC: MIKE XVX, LEE COREY OSWALD, MORE // 9.10

Mike XVX will be coming back through town! His music is described (by him) as being "feral vegan straightedge"." What that translates to is emotional and fiercely political folk punk rock with a positive message. Come check it out! Also playing are new locals Lee Corey Oswald, as well as Shelby Sifers and Camping Party.

CRAFT NIGHT // 9.15

Due to projector problems and limited turnout, Queer Movie Night will no longer be happening. The good news is that Kernan has decided to instead host a craft night! On the Third Tuesday of every month, at 7pm, you can come down to the café to work on bracelets and other things. Some materials will be provided, but be sure to bring your own if you have something specific in mind.

BENEFIT FOR THE REALLY REALLY FREE MARKET // 9.17

This event was rescheduled from last month, due to unforeseen circumstances. It's really happening this time! Please come support this awesome community event! There will be music by Typwrytrs, The Restless Many, and more.

For more details and regularly scheduled events, please check our Myspace page - you can get there easily by going to redandblackcafe.com. Got an event in mind? Get in touch with us!

In solidarity,
Red and Black Café
