Video: Afghanistan Reportback

Each year, Zaher Wahab, professor of education at Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling, leaves Portland to devote four months of service to the Afghan Ministry of Higher Education.
After his most recent return from Afghanistan, I interviewed Zaher on the Public Access program, "A Growing Concern."
Zaher speaks about the the real reasons for the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan as well as conditions in that country during this long Occupation. Despite the many long years of Occupation, conditions have not improved. There is scant water and electricity, and less security.
The U.S. is spending billions on the Occupation, but scant millions to improve and rebuild the infra structure.

A real eye opener to those whose only sources of information about U.S. Occupations in the Middle East are the Corporate News outlets.

During the interview, Zaher also shows many photographs taken during his recent visits, giving a window into the everyday lives of the people.
