The Earth First! Journal is a radical environmental publication that has been in print for close to thirty years. We are currently based out of Tucson Arizona. It is important to us that along with operating on a non-hierarchal basis and through consensus based decision making we also keep a flow of rotating editors.
Each issue is produced over the course of a two-month period. Short-term editors are provided $200 a month along with a room at the house we are based out of.
We seek out short term-editors to diversify the voice of our publication. We also know that each individual that visits hold their own desires and inspirations that reflect through our pages.
Responsibilities of a Short-Term editor include but are in no way limited to, soliciting and writing content for issues along with artwork. We also give InDesign and Photoshop tutorials to help assist you with laying out pages of the journal and creating graphics and doing photo touch-ups. In addition, you'll have a few basic office duties. The opportunities are honestly endless though. Also, your ability to co-exist pleasantly with other editors is just as important as your writing, editing and layout abilities.
We welcome those interested in a short-term editing position to view our website earthfirstjournal.org and look at back issues to familiarize yourself with our publication. We are currently in need of an additional Short Term editor for next issue (September-October). If you are interested in a short-term editing position at the journal please e-mail  wildginger@earthfirstjournal.org for an application. We also have an anti-oppression policy that you can view online that we take very seriously at our office as well as in print.
