On August 1st, 2009, transgender, genderqueer, gender non-conforming folk and allies are moving toward a message of freedom of gender expression, putting it and our sexuality where it belongs: in the unbridled, infinite realm of possibility! We have a full afternoon of fun planned; bring your friends and family and join us for the celebration!

Pre-march Rally: The rally at 5pm will feature trans and gender activists, allies, and YOU! Come hear the stories of others, and tell your own. Featured speakers will include Audrey Lawson of Queer/Trans Self Defense, Jenn Burleton from TransActive, Jules Bailey, and Laura Calvo, longtime trans activist. The rally will also host supportive elected officials, including the Portland City Council, Tina Kotek, Jeff Cogen and Jules Bailey.

March: At 7pm, put on your marching shoes and join us as The Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers strikes up the beat to step off the Gender (Free) For All march, leading through North Portland. For the full march route, check out our website at gffapdx.com/march.

Celebration: After the march, come back to Unthank Park and check out: spoken word artist Tash Shatz; the hip hop stylings of Erin McNamara; Whitney Streed, comic genius; the tunes of Castropho Rising; and the fun-filled acrobatic antics of Collective of Geniuses. Spread out a blanket, unpack your picnic basket, and settle in for a fun-filled all ages show! We look forward to seeing you there!
