New CO2 Maps Show Suburbs Most Responsible for per Capita CO2 emissions

I just found some maps which are very interesting. These maps are colored indicators of many things, including CO2 emissions per capita, or per person and CO2 emissions per acre. What these maps show, is that cities in and of themselves seem to be responsible for considerably less emissions than the suburbs. You can click on the maps in the article and get to the source page, which link you to where you can modify the data.
Look at the top of the page for the menu which lets you change location. There is a U.S. map from where you can select Portland. The strange thing is that this pattern repeats with each US city. Apparently, urban populations everywhere contribute very little CO2, where as the suburbs account for most all of it. There is other data these maps display; just change the selections and you can see other relevant data.
