GALLERY ZERO PRESENTS 'COMMUNICATE' JULY 3, 2009

Friday, July 3, 2009 - Portland's most alternative and daring of art galleries, Gallery Zero presents artists Kat Templeton and Ben Perkins in a fully integrated duo show called 'COMMUNICATE.' Artist reception begins at 6pm.

You won't read about it in the Oregonian. You won't read about it in Willamette Week. You won't find it in the back pages of the Mercury. Gallery Zero is too far from the Pearl to be taken seriously by the journos at these fine rags which might be the greatest compliment they can provide this low budget, low brow, high fidelity enclave of New Art - you won't find fluffy Impressionist landscapes or flying salmon here. The black and red of this gallery lets all passers-by know: this is where the rebels are.

Pushing boundaries and buttons once more Gallery Zero offers us local artists Kat Templeton and Ben Perkins in a wild sideshow collaborative they describe as 'part dark fantasy, part rock opera, all truth.' Dangerously detailed phantasmagoria and hellscaped portraits promise an event you won't find anywhere else. Who would dare?

'COMMUNICATE' runs through the month of July - you can RSVP to  info@thegalleryzero.com or visit their website www.thegalleryzero.com for more information. Gallery Zero is located at 936 SE 34th Avenue, Portland, OR (34th and Belmont).

Although its true Gallery Zero is daring and all that stuff..It certainly is not low brow or punk and when you enter it does not seem low budget..It is a fine establishment thats provacative and illuminating..But saying its punk.low brow, low budget does not give it its due..Nice article,,But somewhat misguided
