Portland Indymedia Down For 24 hours? Not Quite!

I live in western Massachusetts, so maybe I should go to the Boston Indymedia. But you see they have the most impossible-to -comprehend site I've ever encountered (and I have 200 sites in my password encrypter). They always say your email will be hidden, but then they show it anyway! WTF! So I come here. But, you see, THIS SITE HAS BEEN DOWN FOR THE LAST 24 HOURS!
Seriously! My Firefox browser has been grinding away for one minute, then it tells my "portland.indymedia.org is taking too long to respond." So I've used every search engine I could lay hands on trying to search "Portland Indymedia" "site is down" - and came up with nothing. Am I the only one?

Then, just messing around, I opened the "anonymouse.org" anonymizer site, and attempted to get here via a proxy. And here you are.

I have (and pay for) Verizon DSL (Massachusetts). But some Great Firewall Of China seems to be blocking this site to me.

I have made several comments and one entry here about the elite media psyop that was the "Iran election fraud rumor," and was wondering what might come of it. Maybe it's this. Someone should look into this. Maybe I should be calling the toothless guard dogs of the EFF, or something.

Probably an issue with your DNS server 26.Jun.2009 14:24

Sounds like your DNS server wasn't resolving the correct address. I would suggest switching to openDNS (www.opendns.com), but there are many DNS servers you can use that should fix your problem.

Otherwise, your IP is being blocked somewhere on the route from your computer to your ISP to portland.indymedia.org. So, if changing your DNS doesn't help try contacting your ISP and portland.indymedia.org (through the contact link at the top of the page).

Hope that helps.

We could not access the site for about that long as well. Glad it is resolved!
