Rallies at Ungar Furs with Radical Rabbit

There are a lot of activists swooping into PDX for the Let Live weekend (letlivefoundation.org/conference) and the surge against animal abuse begins Friday the 26th with a rally at Ungar furs, SW 12th & Yamhill (2 blocks west of the library). If you want help animals then come "Raise your fist and your voice, (cause) fox & mink have no choice!" Ungar has been slaughtering innocent animals for 103 years and is the last furrier in downtown Portland. Although the Let Live Conference ends on Sunday night a lot of animal advocates are sticking around for another rally on Monday at Ungar.
There are confirmed reports of a gigantic bunny, going by "Radical Rabbit", who has been coming to show support for the enslaved animals who suffer for the prestigious posh that Ungar profits off. Radical Rabbit has also been seen helping pedestrians cross the street safely and occasionally hopping out to surprise passersby, and it's really hilarious. These rallies are extraordinarily fun with hacky-sack and there even single and double dutch jump ropes. There are many signs to hold and chants to shout, "Ungar Furs, hear our shout, Portland wants your fur store out!"

Get off your seat warmer and make a difference for the innocent this Friday and Monday, 1-5pm @ Ungar Furs, SW 12th and Yamhill!

(P.S. Four activists made sure at least 2 spent the past 6 months out there Monday through Friday for 4 hours, in rain or shine, and are very successfully irritating to the proprietors of that "Den of Iniquity", so please consider staying with the campaign. The more people who we reach and convince to never buy fur garments or accessories, the sooner fur farms will have no market and the animals will no longer endure those concentration camps. Fur trappers will have no reason to stomp the neck and chest of defenseless creatures who suffered in spring loaded, steel-jawed traps for up to several weeks. Choose compassion, take action!)

Friday report back 27.Jun.2009 23:56

Radish

Activists from Utah, Vancouver B.C., Vancouver, WA, Florida & elsewhere joined together for a high energy demonstration with about 12-15 acting up for the animals. Everyone is looking forward to protesting Ungar Furs on Monday and helping people to understand why furriers are perverts and molesters. Think of the anal or vaginal electrocution process to kill an animal, and when it just renders them unconscious then they are flayed in full awareness of the skinning & finally bleeding to death. Who needs more reason to confront "people" supporting the fur trade than that?

Thanks to Indy Media for the CENSORSHIP... 29.Jun.2009 13:14

foxy

Apparently my IP is tagged or something. The announcements I posted about these events were held at least 3 days. Another activist posted them for me and they were published within 5 minutes. Now they appear after the fact.

This is independent media?

a marsupial

I stopped by on Friday afternoon and they were closed. I don't know if it was because it was the day before July 4, or if they were too ashamed to stay open the whole day. Either way, any day Ungar's is closed is a good day.
