Call-in day for HR 676

Call your OR Reps to con-sponsor and support Single Payer Health Care for All bill HR 676
A national call-in day in support of HR 676 -- Michigan congressman John Conyer's single-payer health care bill -- has been scheduled for Thursday, February 12, by the Leadership Conference for Guaranteed Healthcare. Timed to coincide with Lincoln's birthday, the call-in day is intended to mobilize citizens to call their congressional representatives to urge new or renewed support for the legislation. Healthcare-NOW Assistant National Coordinator Katie Robbins urges contact with representatives through the congressional switchboard at 202-224-3121. She also recommends calls to (202) 456-1414 or faxes to (202) 456-2461 to carry additional messages of support to the White House. In a sample e-mail within her message, Robbins and other members of the Leadership Conference for Guaranteed healthcare exhort activists to "(u)rge your member to accept testimony from panelists to explore the serious flaws in the Massachusetts health plan and examine why it cannot serve as a national model for providing universal and comprehensive care, on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, 2:00pm-4:00pm, 2226 Rayburn House Office Building."
