PsoriasisA common skin condition by which about 1 to 3 person from each hundred are suffering; Psoriasis. Symptoms of psoriasis are inflammatory red coated patches cover with silvery dry scales. Currently no known causes of Psoriasis are yet discovered and it has been said that it is non curable skin condition.
Psoriasis is fairly non contagious but chronic skin condition. Auto immunity is the well know causes of Psoriasis as compare to the other causes of Psoriasis.
What Causes PsoriasisIn our skin there is a regular process of generation and death of skin cell its time cycle is about 30 to 35 days from generation to the death of a skin cell. Due to some anomalous behavior in your immune system skin cell grow rapidly and heaped on upper surface on skin hence and inflammation has been occurred.
More Causes of PsoriasisActual causes of Psoriasis are still hidden but there are some theories about this and some know triggers which can causes and increase existing skin spots. Like anxiety, environmental condition, drugs, infection and injury etc.
Auto-immune irregularities are the most understood and well define causes of Psoriasis. T-cells produce a chemical substance which increase the production rate of skin cells and they start to stack up on upper layer of the skin. Normally skin cell born, grow and leave the skin due to their death in every 30 days. But in plaque psoriasis the skin goes through this whole process in 3-6 days. Main causes of psoriasis are still not fully understood. It is possible that multiple factor are may contribute in Psoriasis. Auto-immunity is the main role player besides his genetic and environmental factors are also involve in this skin disease.
Types of PsoriasisPsoriasis has been categorized in some types. That are Plaque Psoriasis, Guttate Psoriasis, Erythrodermic Psoriasis, Pustular Psoriasis and scalp Psoriasis.
Plaque Psoriasis Most occurring type of Psoriasis about 80% of all the patients of Psoriasis are suffering from this skin type of psoriasis. These spots are normally covered with dry-silvery-scales over red inflammations. Usually knees, elbows and back involved in this type of Psoriasis. Lesions have clear cut boundaries, size may be from a few millimeters to several centimeters in size.
