APPO Activists Being Framed for the Murder of Brad Will

Indymedia journalist Brad Will was murdered by government henchmen in Oaxaca nearly two years ago now. His video camera was rolling to the last, and eerily caught his assassins on tape. At the time, the Mexican government attempted to tell the world that Will had been killed by "disgruntled citizens" who were fed up with all the protesting. However, the videotape proved that they were lying. The gun-toting assassins on Brad Will's videotape were later identified as prominent police and government officials of Oaxaca.
Strangely, although Will's own video tape bore witness to the crime and the criminals, the Mexican government was never able or willing to make any arrests in the case. ...Until now. Incredibly, at long last, the Mexican government claims to *finally* have its suspects. This should be a relief to Will's family and supporters. But the suspects bear no resemblance to the gun-toting murderers in Will's last testament. Instead, the oppressive government has chosen to arrest leaders of the APPO movement, people who were standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Will in a struggle for justice.

As if it were not bad enough that the Oaxacan government killed Brad Will, they are now using his murder to imprison leaders of the opposition movement whom Brad went down to Oaxaca to support. When they could not gun down their opposition, they turned to simply using the machinery of the crooked state to arrest and imprison them.

SPEAK OUT for the APPO! Do not let the Oaxacan government silence our comrades to the South. Do NOT let Brad Will's death be used by the oppressor to take our comrades off the street.
