Nader to speak in Portland on Monday 10/20/08 in the Bagdad

Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez's 2008 campaign Tour comes to the Great North West! The full schedule of events appears below:
Ralph will address the Wall Street Bailout and many other issues the major party candidates have taken "off the table" -- but that the Nader/Gonzalez Campaign has put firmly on the table, including:

a comprehensive, negotiated military and corporate withdrawal date from Iraq
a single-payer, private delivery, free-choice public health insurance system for all
a living wage and repeal of the anti-union Taft-Hartley Act;
a no-nuke, solar-based energy policy supported by renewable, sustainable, energy-efficient sources
a carbon tax to deter global warming
an end to the corporate welfare and corporate crime that has resulted in millions losing pensions, savings and jobs and squandered tax dollars
more direct democracy reflecting the preamble to our constitution which starts with "we the people," and not "we the corporations."

Sorta anti-climatic 20.Oct.2008 11:02

Quite a drop from the days of filling the memorial coliseum with 10,000 people to today trying to get a couple hundred to show up at the Bagdad. Just more evidence that Ralph made critical errors in his thinking that the Green party needed him more than he needed us.

Now instead of trying to build a true opposition movement, Ralph has been relegated to a small town movie theatre in his effort to further divide the already splintered left.
