McCain Suspends his campaign

Just saw McCain speak on C-span. He said he will suspend his campaign until financial crisis is solved. Does not say he will ask for election to be suspended. Obama says no way!
Just saw both McCain and Obama speak on C-span. McCain will suspend his campaign as of tomorrow morning. He does not want to debate Obama. Not sure what this means for the election.

Obama came on just after McCain and said he would not suspend his campaign and would show up at the debates. He said that America has a right to hear what he and McCain will propose to get the economy going again. He said he wants to tell the people what he has discovered about the wall street and banking collapse. He said he has a plan and wants to debate McCain. Obama said that the people of America want and need an election.

McCain's website quote:

"It has become clear that no consensus has developed to support the Administration's proposal. I do not believe that the plan on the table will pass as it currently stands, and we are running out of time.

Tomorrow morning, I will suspend my campaign and return to Washington after speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative. I have spoken to Senator Obama and informed him of my decision and have asked him to join me. "
