Another Green Wenie

SW.NW. and SE Portland get the Greenway Trail along the river but not North Portland.
Well everybody,

If this message from Barbara is correct, it looks like North Portland gets the old green weenie once again. We go to Sam Adams the PDOT Commissioner who lives in North Portland and he tells us to "wait for the River Plan." Metro puts a green line along the river on the map so people in North and Northeast Portland will have a reason to vote for the Greenspaces Ballot Measure. Then after we vote for it we're told we can't get close to the water because we'll contaminate the fish. The River Plan goes to the Planning Commission and we find out that in North Portland the Willamette Greenway Trail won't be along the river but on city streets.

City staff uses the Dolan excuse for their laziness. Telling us there is no private funding for the Trail, when we voted for a Metro bond measure to pay for Trail acquisition. - What's wrong with this picture?

Does anyone remember Bob Straub saying the Greenway would be built with private money?

The City has no money for the Greenway. But it does have bazillions of dollars to rebuild West Burnside so their developer cronies can make money tearing down the SRO's in SW Portland, where low income seniors live, and build more luxury condos.

Just another day in North Portland where the working stiffs are getting screwed. Just shut up and pay your taxes.

Maybe they'll let us paint the Trail Green on St. Patty's Day.
