Join us this Sun 9/21 at 7pm for a musical event benefiting the Long Haul Infoshop in Berkeley. Featuring music by Brenna Sahatjian, Stumptown Strugglers, and The Dapper Cadavers. $3-$300 no one turned away for lack of funds.
On the morning of August 27th police raided the Infoshop, taking all their computers, and not letting infoshop members into the building. Long Haul is an intergral part of the East Bay community and houses projects such as the Slingshot Newspaper and Organizers, East Bay Prisoner Support Network, and Food Not Bombs.
Can't Come To The Benefit?
Four things you can do to help the Long Haul
1) Donate Money
We will need money for legal expenses at the very least. Please consider donating to the Long Haul either by PayPal (to firstname.lastname@example.org) or send a check to 3124 Shattuck Ave. Berkeley Ca. Phone 94705. Make checks
payable to Long
Haul. We are a 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax deductable. Any amount will help.
2) Donate Time
The Long Haul needs people to help out with a variety of tasks. We need new people to help staff the Infoshop (we could be open many more hours than we are now). We need help with legal work, keeping the Infoshop open, attending meetings, maintaining the technology of the computer lab, etc, etc. Please email email@example.com if you have time to give to Berkeley's community Infoshop
3) Donate Computers
We would like to get our publicly available computer lab back up and running as soon as possible. If you have a computer you can donate that is
a) No older than 5 years old (Approximately 1Ghz in speed)
b) A PC or Mac (PC's are strongly preferred)
c) not entirely broken
Please swing by the Long Haul during our open Infoshop hours (3-9 weekends, 6-9pm M-T) and drop it off. We could also do with better monitors and peripherals but they are not a necessity.
Demonstrate for Free Speech with Friends of the Long Haul on Thursday September 4th from 11 am to 1 pm at Sproul Plaza on the University of Berkeley Campus.
