The Portland City Council will revisit the city's "sit-lie" ordinance in October. The ordinance, adopted last year, prohibits persons from sitting, either on the pavement or on a chair or stool, or lying down on public sidewalks. Supporters say the law makes for a safer, cleaner downtown, but opponents say it discriminates against the homeless.

Do you support Portland's sit-lie ordinance?

This survey is a load of organic fertilizer. It's sample is biased, the size is too small and people can vote multiple times. If some wants to use this to justify the law confront them on their bullshit.

I mean are businessmen really going to be in favor of homeless rights?

This is posted at the bottom of the poll

"This poll is not a scientific sampling, but offers a quick view of what readers are thinking"

Only folks allowed will be those toting Saks or Nordstrum shopping bags.

It's defiantly used to target the homeless. On the other hand the cops used to use disturbing the peace or public intoxication to effect the same outcome. Not saying all the homeless are intoxicated or disturbing the peace but those seem to be the catch all
type laws used. I think the cops like it cause they no longer have to make up a threats to get people to move on.
