Olin is a collective involved with many things right now. Locally we are beginning campaigns around immigrant solidarity work and anti-LNG(liquefied natural gas pipelines being built in Oregon), internationally we are continuing to build relationships with revolutionary groups in Mexico. We run the monthly study/discussion group the second Monday of each month that is open to the public. We run a beginners to intermediate Spanish Class three times a month, and organize small fiestas and events to raise awareness and funds and to bring people together to build community!

Come to the Study Group to meet some of us and ask questions, or e-mail questions to  olin@riseup.net

Olin

'Olin' signifies the word 'movement' in the Nahuatl language of the Aztec peoples. Olin is an autonomous collective affiliated with Sin Fronteras Portland. We seek to build solidarity with, and learn from, the many social movements from below, that are building a new world in Mexico.

We seek to do principled solidarity, and develop solid relationships with anti-authoritarian/anti-capitalist groups building and struggling in Mexico. Some of these groups include: the CONSEJO INDÍGENA POPULAR DE OAXACA—"Ricardo Flores Magón" CIPO-RFM < http://www.nodo50.org/cipo/> and the Alianza Magonista Zapatista AMZ (which is a network of several different organizations and communities) < http://www.nodo50.org/cipo/> and the Alianza Magonista Zapatista AMZ (which is a network of several different organizations and communities) < link to espora.org.

Olin seeks to extend solidarity with the immigrant community locally, and in the U.S. and with all those struggling against capitalism, neo-liberalism, and white supremacist anti-immigrant laws. We look to support and build with the immigrant rights movement, with farm workers, day laborers, with unions, and other community organizations. We want to bring the passion for justice that is exploding in Mexico to the U.S. We will bring to light the many devastating economic policies U.S. Capitalists are enacting. Policies that are waging economic warfare on indigenous communities, Mexicans and all of South America such as Plan Puebla Panama,
the North American Free Trade Agreement, and the Central American Free Trade Agreement.

Olin will support solidarity calls, raise funds for material aid for groups we are in working relations with, raise awareness and support for political prisoners, continue building our analysis of what is going on in Mexico, assess our skills to best apply them and, overall, do work that is asked of us in effort towards mutual critical understanding, building relations, and participating in building global movements towards social justice.
